Sounds easy… not quite that simple. Can you totally forgive someone when you can’t quite forget! That’s where it gets tricky. Forgetting how someone hurt you is a process that seems to happen gradually as time goes on. ”Time heals all wounds,” isn’t that what “they” say? I think it’s true, time takes the sting out. But you never really forget. That I’ve learned, and it’s probably wise not to. Take what you’ve learned and use it in a positive way. In that way you don’t end up making the same mistakes twice. You’ll be less inclined to set yourself up for disappointment. But forgiveness that has to be a conscious choice. A decision you make, to move forward. In my opinion it’s the only choice out of negativity to a place of peace. Free from anger, resentment and all the baggage that goes with it . I’ve learned to choose forgiveness even if the person, place or thing your forgiving never knows or asks for it. It doesn’t matter. Let it go, Leave it with them and move forward!
